Unrighteous Judgment

Unrighteous Judgment Romans 2:1-11 Main Point: We must not make unrighteous judgments by failing in the same ways, rather, let us live and judge rightly like God with kindness, tolerance, and patience. Judge (krino) = ‘to distinguish between right and wrong (and in this context – ‘with the implication to condemn’).’ Condemn - v.1 (katakrino) = ‘to sentence; judge worthy of punishment.’ 1. We often judge others in the very same areas we fail in, thus condemning ourselves! (verses 1,3) Matthew 7:1-5 2. Only God can judge rightly as He is righteous and His judgment is based on truth. (verse 2) 1Samuel 16:7 Jeremiah 17:10 3. Let us live righteously, and judge rightly with kindness, tolerance, and patience towards others, like God does with us! (verses 4-6) Kindness, tolerance and patience toward others’ failures – not towards sin! James 2:12-13
