Having the Father's Heart
Main Point: Do we understand the Father's heart toward us when we sin or stray? Do we have the Father's heart towards prodigal people? 1. When we sin or stray, we must first come to our senses, confess and repent, then receive the Father's compassion and mercy. 2. We are to expectantly wait for prodigals with compassion and mercy, and rejoice when they return, rather than being angry and resentful of them and of God's compassion and mercy, like the older brother.
