CloseNew and Improved? Hebrews 8:7-13 Main Point: God has established a new covenant that we may know Him, His forgiveness and have His Laws in our minds and on our hearts. Covenant = A binding agreement/oath Hebrews 6:13-14 The emblems of communion symbolize God’s unconditional covenant in Christ with us. 1. God’s people were unfaithful to the Mosaic Covenant, so God turned away from them in judgment. verse 9 Exodus 19:3-6 2. We enter the new covenant of God through faith in Christ's sacrifice¬and receive the indwelling Spirit, who puts God’s laws in our mind and writes them on our hearts. verse 10 Luke 22:17-20 Communion reminds us of our faith in Jesus Christ and our commitment to live out obedience.
