Message: “Come To The Table” from Tom Leonard

A message from the series “Not Part of a Series.” Come to the Table
Isaiah 55:1-3
Main Point:
God has a feast for us in Christ: We receive and celebrate the provision of Grace given us through Christ’s sacrifice.

‘Buy without money’ emphasizes that it is costly, but free to us in Christ! We cannot buy it for we are bankrupt spiritually.

1. Our need – the of our soul. Water, wine, milk, bread = staples of life, but also represent spiritual realities. e.g. Living water.

What are you hungering for? Thirsting for? What are you trying to fill it with? ! We may not understand exactly what our needs are – but that we are needy!

Jesus – John 7:37

*All the riches, promises and provisions are yea and amen in Christ and only in Christ, and are applied in us thru the Holy Spirit.

We have to know God’s provision in Christ-

2. God’s Provision – the _____________________ – herein is the living water, the gladdening wine, the nourishing milk, the satisfying bread! Grace – giving us everything we need though we have not earned it, nor do we deserve it.

Ephesians 1:7-8

Message: “A Trustworthy Message” from Tom Leonard

A message from the series “Not Part of a Series.” A Trustworthy Message
II Peter 1:16-21
Main Point:
The message of God is true: based on accounts of Jesus’ disciples, and prophetic fulfillment.

1. The disciples were eyewitnesses to Christ, His teachings
and His transfiguration, and these were for us. verses 16-18

Acts 1:21-22 Replacing Judas as an apostle

Matthew 17:1-8

2. Events prophesied beforehand by prophets who were _____ by the Holy Spirit, not by their own interpretation. verses 19-21

‘Carried’ = to (a load or a burden) – literally and figuratively.

*The Holy Spirit illuminated their minds, gave them supra-natural knowledge of divine matters, gave them foresight of future events, and moved them to what they should speak and write.
>The Holy Spirit illumines our minds – leads and guides us into the truth of the Word! (John 16:13-15)

Let us embrace the Word of God as true and authoritative in our lives! v.19 “…pay attention to it.”
