II Peter 3:1-18
Main Point:
We must be ready for Jesus’ return – living holy, Godly lives, sharing the hope of Christ and that coming day!

‘Day of the Lord’ – Acts 2:20 > Isaiah 13:9-13

1. ! The Day of the Lord will come like a thief bringing judgment and destruction of the unsaved & unGodly – we must be ready! verses 7-10

Scoffers – then and now… verses 3-4.

Luke 12:38-40

2. ! Guard against being deceived or led astray!
verses 16-17
Enemy – tries to keep you from being saved, or if get saved, try to keep you confused, deceived, ineffective, paralyzed…

Matthew 24:4-5

3. ! We are called to live holy, Godly lives; and look for opportunities to share His hope. verses 11-14

Verse 18 – Grow in the grace and knowledge of the Lord and savior Jesus Christ!

Main Point: It is up to __you__ to struggle in relationship and in His Word to understand who He is.

C. Glorification — __Last Breath. Enter into Eternity__

1Peter4:1-11 – “Therefore, since Christ has suffered in the flesh, arm yourselves also with the same purpose, …”

Main Point: It is our responsibility to _________________ _ the truth of Jesus Christ in what we say and how we live.

1. Purposed to suffer in the flesh – We must make _____________ choices being able to discern the greater good.

Matt. 26:41 – “Keep watching and praying that you may not enter into
temptation; the spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak.”

2. Purposed to live in the Spirit – Our behaviors and actions must be

1. They were called to serve; we are . verses 1-4

2. – full of the Spirit and wisdom, full of faith. vss. 3, 4

Live a life worthy of the calling you have received. Ephesians 4:1

3. – Needs were met; the word of God spread; number of disciples increased (even some Jewish priests!). verse 7

A message from the series “Acts of the Apostles.” The Good News!
Acts 5:12-42

Main Point:
The Good News (Gospel) of God brings us forgiveness, healing, deliverance, and the indwelling gift of the Spirit!

(1) What is the Good News (Gospel)? *verses 30-32*

*Signs & Wonders accompany the Gospel, not lead us! Mark 16:1

(2) The apostles were preaching the Gospel at great cost (chp.3; 5:18; 5:40 – arrested 2x & flogged). Are we sharing the Gospel? List those you can prayer for and look for an opp. to share

(3) How did God rescue them from persecution? *verses 34-39* God used Gamaliel, one of the Pharisees, to defend them! Even though they were flogged, they went rejoicing to bear suffering!

*He will enable you to stand strong in the face of persecution.

(4) How were the apostles able to be effective? *verse 32* – The power of the indwelling gift of the Holy Spirit!

*God gives the Spirit to those who obey the Gospel (believe on & receive Jesus Christ)! Have you received the gift of the Spirit?!

Main Point:
Jesus calls us to our lives in other people so that they can become His friends, come to His Banquet!

Isaiah 25:6-8

1. __________ you are at the Banquet! (Don’t make excuses!)

*Verse 21 The Master became angry at their excuses!

2. Bring a ! Develop a relationship so that the person knows how much you care (they don’t care how much you know) verse 21
II Corinthians 5:20

2. Build a ! Pray! Then look for an opening to share how Jesus Christ has impacted your life (testimony). verse 23

3. your friend across the bridge. Walk with your friend thru this process of God drawing them and their discovery.
