Main Point:
We are called to praise God with all of our , and to not forget all of His benefits!

Praise (‘Baw-rak’) = act of adoration; to bless, praise.

1. We are to praise who is Holy! verses 1-2

= ‘I AM’ – ; needs nothing nor anyone!

Isaiah 45:5-7 (call of Cyrus His anointed)

Holy = moral & ethical perfection (Separateness, Apartness-)
-Exodus 3:5 ‘do not come any closer…the place…is holy ground’
Exodus 15:11-13 (song of Moses)

2. We are ‘not to forget’ all the He gives us. vvs 3-5

Verses 8-12 His nature of love, compassion and mercy! Chesed love= covenant love vvs.17-18 for those who fear Him

a. Forgives all our sins – Galatians 4:4
b. Heals all our diseases – provision for healing James 5:14
c. Redeems our life from the pit! (figuratively destruction) &
crowns you with love and compassion! Psalm 40:1-2
d. Satisfies your desires with good things – Matt. 7:11
>Let us praise and exalt Yahweh, our Creator, Redeemer, Sustainer; His Son Yeshua; thru the Ru’ach ho’kodesh! (H.S.)

A message from the series “The Book of Hebrews.” Persevering Through Hardship!
Hebrews 12:4-13

Main Point:
We must embrace hardship as Father God’s discipline so that we may run this race with perseverance and be made more like Jesus!

Job 5:17-18 (NIV) “Blessed is the man whom God corrects; so do not despise the discipline of the Almighty. For he wounds, but he also binds up; he injures, but his hands also heal.”

Father’s discipline = God’s loving Correction/Chastisement (v.6) to help us turn away from sin, and persevere through hardships.

1 Corinthians 11:32 (CEV)
Revelation 3:19 (NIV)

1. Though it is not pleasant, we are not to despise or reject His discipline because He is treating us as His children. verses 5-6

Verse 5 – ‘Make light’ = Despise or regard lightly; care little for

2. We are to endure hardship in our lives as discipline – receiving it as training for righteousness and holiness. verses 7-10

3. The result is to make us strong, able to persevere, and able to share in His holiness. verses 11-13

If we be trained by it we actually become more like Jesus!

A message from the series “The Book of Hebrews.” The Faith that God Rewards
Hebrews 11
Main Point:
We must have a faith that embraces God and His Word; It is trust and to His will that He rewards.

‘Confidence’ (substance) = ‘ ’ = Substructure/ foundation.

‘Assurance’ (certainty) – a conviction that comes from _____, from a demonstration of – that which is unseen is borne out-

The object of our faith v.6 = the unseen, eternal God.
John 1:18

1. Faith without is not true faith; it is not a
faith that God rewards. (Embracement = obedient action)

-not mere intellectual faith – ‘I believe in God’

A message from the series “Acts of the Apostles.” A Faith that Perseveres
Hebrews 10:19-39
Main Point:
If we have true saving faith we will not deliberately Christ and His provision of forgiveness of our sins, but we will persevere in faith!

Perseverance proves our faith!

Context – v.23 hold unswervingly = remain faithful

1 No ‘sacrifice for sins is left’ for those who deliberately reject Christ,
but only judgment because there is from God.

John 14:6

2. Those that forsake and reject Christ are in great danger: They fall
under God’s . verses 29-31, 36-38

Numbers 15:30 unintentional and intentional sin.

John 3:16-18; 12:44-48; Hebrews 3:12-14

3. We are not of those that ‘ ’ and are destroyed, but are faithfully persevering, and will be saved and richly rewarded! verses 32-35; 39

Verse 36 He is coming soon to deliver us and give us rich reward!

A message from the series “Thessalonians.” What is The Day of the Lord?
I Thessalonians 5:1-11
Main Point:
The Day of the Lord is the time when His saved ones (us) see salvation and the inauguration of the Christ’s kingdom, but for unbelievers it will be .

Acts 17:29-31 God will have his Day – a day of reckoning!

1. For Believers in Jesus Christ, it is a Day of .
(verses 9-10)
The Prophets began to speak of another Day – most with a dual fulfillment – Isaiah 2:12; 13:6-9; Amos 5:18-19; Zechariah 14:1-6; Joel 2:28-32 > Acts 2:17-21; > 17:31

(v.2) This Day of the Lord will come… ‘like a thief in the night’ = do not know when He is coming.

2. For unbelievers it will be an day of wrath and
destruction. (verse 3)

Destruction = … being shut out from the Lord’s presence. II Thessalonians 1:6-10

3. We belong to the light and are to be ;
putting on faith, love and the hope of our salvation as our
armor! (verses 5-8)

Mark 13:32-37 Watch! Be on Guard – be alert!

A message from the series “The Book of Hebrews.” Draw Near and Hold On!
Hebrews 10:19-25
Main Point:
We can draw near to God thru Jesus for strength to , encouraging one another on to faithfulness, love and good deeds!

Hold unswervingly (v.23) = ____________________________

1. We have the privilege to to God thru Jesus
our great High Priest. verses 19-22

Come near, approach, visit > the Most Holy Place (v.19) = the presence of God!

*to have our hearts cleansed, and receive strength and encouragement to hold fast!

2. a. We are to one another on to love and good deeds,
and encourage one another! verse 24

b. v.25 let us not give up meeting together – forsake the
assembling ourselves together.

*We are not to be spiritually lazy: forsaking the assembling of ourselves! We need to encourage each other!

3. (v. 25) We do this – because the is fast approaching!

A message from the series “Not Part of a Series.” Keep in Step with the Spirit
Galatians 5:16-25

Main Point:
If you live each day in the leading of the Spirit then you will not live out of your flesh (sinful nature), but we must keep in step with the Spirit.

Flesh (v.19 ‘sinful nature’) = my fallen nature apart from the power of the Spirit.
Sin sampler – vss.19-21> (see also Mark 7:14-23)

James 1:13-15 – my desires (flesh-corrupted) give birth to
sin = death (separation from the life of God)
Some sins become strongholds (it’s a spiritual issue!)

How do I live each day in the leading of the Spirit?
1. Die to myself each day: Luke 9:23

Ask for forgiveness & cleansing: I John 1:9

2. Ask the Spirit within me to fill me (take control) and lead me throughout this day: verse 16 > Ephesians 5:18.

*The fruit will be – verses 22-23. Notice last is self control – for emphasis & connection.

3. Listen for His Voice/Leading throughout the day & follow. verse 26

It’s hard/battle – We’ve got to be intentional!

He wants to show us and lead us into the deep things of God

But we have to move past the elementary things.

A message from the series “The Book of Hebrews.” Jesus, Our Better Covenant
Hebrews 8:1-13

Main Point:
Through Jesus, our eternal High Priest, we have a better, superior covenant (relationship)! We must remain faithful to Jesus!

> Jeremiah 31:31-34

1. Perfect Guarantor! (verse 8-10)

Everything of our salvation is initiated by God, and guaranteed by Him!

2. Perfect fellowship – (relationship). (verses 10-11)

God desires a relationship with us right where we are!

3. Perfect forgiveness & forgetfulness. (verse 12)

Our sin has been forgiven, and forgotten by God! Therefore, we live in freedom!
