A message from the series “Not Part of a Series.” God’s Christmas Gift for Us
Luke 2:1-20
Main Point: God offers a Christmas gift to each us of us – it is the gift of His that comes only through Jesus Christ, the Savior and Lord!

We can have deep tranquility, satisfaction, well-being, & fulfillment in our soul – true peace – God’s peace!

1. This Christmas gift of peace is inner peace, where we are in to God through Jesus Christ.
verses 10-14

Romans 5:1 ‘Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.’

But it is not automatically given to everyone-
2. We receive this gift by believing in Christ – we trust in what He has done for us, and we Him into our lives.
John 1:12-13

God’s favor rests on those who respond to His call to repentance, to turn from our sin & self-will & self-rule & self-justification, and receive His Son JX into our lives as Lord – Master. We must know Jesus, not just know about Him!

3. The Gift of Christmas is that we can have God’s peace by knowing Jesus Christ, who the Father to us. John 1:18

A message from the series “Not Part of a Series.” The Coming King
Luke 1:26-38

Main point:
The Angel Gabriel declares that the Coming One (Messiah will be named Y’shua (Jesus), the Great Son of Most High God, and the Davidic King whose kingdom will never end.

~The Name Jesus = (Y’shua or Yehoshua) = ‘Yahweh saves or salvation’

Psalm 130:7-8

*Have you received His salvation?

1. Jesus is the Great Son of the Most High God! verse 32

This is called the Incarnation. > verse 35

How could this be possible? John 1:1-2 > 14

Jesus – John 8:23 > 16:28; 5:22

We have the testimony of the Angel, the disciples, and Jesus Himself… *Do you believe He is the Son of God?

2. Jesus is the Davidic King = Messiah > Anointed One whose kingdom reigns forever! verses 32-33

II Samuel 7:12-16 > Psalm 89:35-37

Micah 5:2-4

*Have you submitted your life to the reigning King?

Matthew 1:1-24

Main Point: Christmas is all about God’s plan of rescuing us from sin and ourselves – we must Jesus, the Messiah, Rescuer!

Isaiah’s ancient prophecy of the sign of the Messiah was fulfilled so that our sins could be forgiven… (Isaiah 7:14)

He is the Messiah, the Son Of God and God with us!

1. The Messiah was in Mary through the Holy Spirit this is how He is the Son of God! verse 18

2. The Lord’s prophecy was that the Messiah would be named
– He will save them from their sins. verse 21

Yeshua = ‘Yahweh our salvation.’

‘Salvation’ (root word ‘sodzo’) = ________________________

3. The Lord’s prophecy was that the Messiah would be
‘__________________ = God with us’ verse 23

God’s rescue plan unfolds by God coming to live among us!

A message from the series “Not Part of a Series.” Young but All In!
I Timothy 4:12
‘Don’t let anyone think less of you because you are young. Be an example to all believers in what you say, in the way you live, in your love, your faith, and your purity.’ (New Living Translation)

Main Point:
Though you are young, set an as a Christ-follower to everyone around you.

*Begins with what is in your heart (totality of my life). Mark 12:30

1. Be an Example in What You : Ephesians 4:29

Proverbs 18:21 ‘The power of life and death is in the tongue…

You can bring life into others with the words you speak – you can also tear down – bring death!

2. Be an Example in the Way You : Romans 12:1-2

If you want to impact people for the Lord you must seek to live an upright, righteous life of integrity. I John 2:15

3. Be an Example in the Way You : I Peter 4:8

People around us today are touched by people who love – love is powerful!

4. Be an Example in Your : I Thessalonians 1:8

When you are a person of strong, vibrant faith – you impact and influence people around you for God!

5. Be an Example in Your : I Thessalonians 4:7
I Thessalonians 5:22 ‘Stay away from every kind of evil.’

Psalm 119:25

A message from the series “The Book of Hebrews.” Sinai or Jesus?
Hebrews 12:18-29

Main Point:
Through Jesus we have a way through Sinai to Mt. Zion (God’s Presence)!

We don’t go around Sinai, we go through it by Jesus!

1. Sinai is the Old Covenant – based on keeping the law, with fearful and severe consequences. It points us to Jesus! verses 18-21

The Law’s purpose was to point out the impossibility of keeping it and point us to our need for Christ. Galatians 3:23-25

2. The new covenant, of which Christ is the mediator, is the only basis by which we come to Zion; to worship our Awesome God! verses 22-29

In Zion there is mercy, grace, forgiveness and restoration – all in His Presence through Jesus… We walk with him through life!

v.27 – removed by shaking > Judgment

II Peter 3:10-12

Psalm 103
Main Point:
We are called to praise God with all of our , and to not forget all of His benefits!

Praise (‘Baw-rak’) = act of adoration; to bless, praise.

1. We are to praise who is Holy! verses 1-2
(YaHWeH)יהוה
= ‘I AM’ – ; needs nothing nor anyone!
Exodus 3:13-15
Isaiah 45:5-7 (call of Cyrus His anointed)

Holy = moral & ethical perfection (Separateness, Apartness-)
-Exodus 3:5 ‘do not come any closer…the place…is holy ground’
Exodus 15:11-13 (song of Moses)

2. We are ‘not to forget’ all the He gives us. vvs 3-5

Verses 8-12 His nature of love, compassion and mercy! Chesed love= covenant love vvs.17-18 for those who fear Him

a. Forgives all our sins – Galatians 4:4
b. Heals all our diseases – provision for healing James 5:14
c. Redeems our life from the pit! (figuratively destruction) &
crowns you with love and compassion! Psalm 40:1-2
d. Satisfies your desires with good things – Matt. 7:11
>Let us praise and exalt Yahweh, our Creator, Redeemer, Sustainer; His Son Yeshua; thru the Ru’ach ho’kodesh! (H.S.)

A message from the series “The Book of Hebrews.” Persevering Through Hardship!
Hebrews 12:4-13

Main Point:
We must embrace hardship as Father God’s discipline so that we may run this race with perseverance and be made more like Jesus!

Job 5:17-18 (NIV) “Blessed is the man whom God corrects; so do not despise the discipline of the Almighty. For he wounds, but he also binds up; he injures, but his hands also heal.”

Father’s discipline = God’s loving Correction/Chastisement (v.6) to help us turn away from sin, and persevere through hardships.

Revelation 3:19 (NIV)

1. Though it is not pleasant, we are not to despise or reject His discipline because He is treating us as His children. verses 5-6

Verse 5 – ‘Make light’ = Despise or regard lightly; care little for

2. We are to endure hardship in our lives as discipline – receiving it as training for righteousness and holiness. verses 7-10

James 1:2-4

3. The result is to make us strong, able to persevere, and able to share in His holiness. verses 11-13

If we be trained by it we actually become more like Jesus!
