A message from the series “Romans.” To Live is to Die
Romans 6:1-14
Main Point:
We have been united with Messiah Jesus in His death – we have died to our old sinful life and have risen into new life in Him!
1. We died with Jesus in His death which is symbolized through baptism – therefore we died to the old self and the old sinful life. (verses 1-3)
*The old self was crucified with Him so that the ‘body of sin’ might be ‘done away with’ or ‘rendered powerless.’ (verse 6)
Katargeo = to inactivate, to render inoperative
John 12:24-25
2. We have been raised with Christ into new life so that we too may live a new life serving God through the indwelling Spirit! (verses 4-6)
Romans 8:9-10
3. We are to count ourselves dead to sin but alive to God through Christ, and not give ourselves as instruments of wickedness but rather
instruments of righteousness!(verses 11-14)
*We are to die to ourselves and sin daily, and commit ourselves to Christ through the empowering work of the Spirit
Galatians 2:20

A message from the series “Romans.” Reign in LIfe!
Romans 5:12 – 17
Main Point:
Receive the grace of the Risen Messiah Jesus and He will enable us to reign in this life!
Reign (basiluo) = to reign as with a King (in contrast to death reigning over us).
1. Sin and death entered the world through the one man Adam, and came to all people because all sinned. (verses 12-14)
Adam first sinned, but we all _confirm it by sinning! (Romans 3:23)
2. Through this came judgment and condemnation (death reigning), but grace and righteousness overflows thru Messiah Jesus! (verses 15-16)
Overflow (perissuo) = to superabound, overflow exceedingly! !
John 1:17-18
3. Those who receive this abundant provision of grace and the gift of righteousness reign in life thru Messiah Jesus! (verse 17)
John 6:37 “All those the Father gives to me shall come to me, and whoever comes to me I will never turn them away”

A message from the series “Not Part of a Series.” Are You Good Dirt?
Luke 8:4-15
Main Point:
Jesus expects us to be good dirt! We are to persevere in applying and obeying His Word, by doing so, produce good fruit in our lives.
Seed = the whole message of God
1. The Word sown in Hard, disinterested hearts is stolen away by the evil one (Satan). (verse 12)
*Satan steals it away with the things of this world.
2. The Word sown in shallow, superficial hearts does not take root and when testing comes, they fall away. (verse 13)
*Trials/tribulation will surely come – it is designed by God to test us!
3. The Word sown in divided hearts is choked by life’s worries, riches and pleasures; they do not mature and are unfruitful. (verse 14)
4. The Word sown in good hearts produces good fruit in us – by persevering in obeying it! (verse 15)
Let us persevere in life-long pursuit of Jesus and His Word!

A message from the series “Not Part of a Series.” HOW do we show our love for one another…
1. We are to accept one another
Romans 15:7
[7] Accept one another, then, just as Christ accepted you, in order to bring praise to God.
2. We are to build up one another
Romans 14:19 NLT
[19] So then, let us aim for harmony in the church and try to build each other up.
3. We are to serve one another
Galatians 5:13
[13] You, my brothers, were called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge the sinful nature ; rather, serve one another in love.
4. We are to carry one another’s burdens
Galatians 6:1-2
[1] Brothers, if someone is caught in a sin, you who are spiritual should restore him gently. But watch yourself, or you also may be tempted. [2] Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.
5. We are to be kind, compassionate and forgiving to one another
Ephesians 4:32
[32] Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.
6. We are to submit to one another
Ephesians 5:21
[21] Submit to one another out of reverence for Christ.
7. We are to encourage one another
Hebrews 3:12-13
[12] See to it, brothers, that none of you has a sinful, unbelieving heart that turns away from the living God. [13] But encourage one another daily, as long as it is called Today, so that none of you may be hardened by sin’s deceitfulness.
8. We are to spur one another
Hebrews 10:24-25
[24] And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds. [25] Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching.
9. We are to be hospitable to one another
1 Peter 4:8-9
[8] Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins. [9] Offer hospitality to one another without grumbling

A message from the series “Romans.” Got Access ?
Romans 5:1 – 11
Main Point:
We have access into God’s grace thru faith in Jesus Christ, and His commitment to produce perseverance and character in us
Access = moving toward, able to approach(God)
Grace = unmerited favor, goodness, and mercy of God towards us
1. Access into God’s grace comes only through Faith
in Jesus Christ (4:23) not by good works or obeying the Law.
(verses 1-2)
Faith = believing responses to God’s drawing/calling
Ephesians 2:8-9
Now good is not always what we think it should be…
2. Sufferings produce perseverance, character and more hope
confirmed by the Holy Spirit in us!
(verses 3-5)
Sufferings =
Hebrews 4:16
3. God’s commitment to us : While we were yet powerless, sinners, enemies of God, Christ died for us that we might be reconciled (restoration!).
(verses 6-11)
I John 3:1b ‘How great is the love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are!’
