A message from the series “Not Part of a Series.” That Our Heart May Be Opened
Ephesians 1:15-21

Main Point: Paul prays that the eyes of our heart will be opened through the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that we will know the Father better; and know the hope, inheritance, and power that are ours in Jesus Christ!

Opened (photizo) = Illuminate, make to see. 

1. The eyes of our heart (transformed mind) are opened as the Father gives us through the Spirit wisdom and revelation.
verse17

Revelation (apokalupsis) = the revealing/unveiling of truth.

Wisdom (sophia) = the true knowledge of God & life, and the understanding to be able to apply it.

I Corinthians 2:9-14

2. As we know the Father better, we will know the glorious hope, the riches of His inheritance, and incomparably great power we have in Christ!

A message from the series “Not Part of a Series.” God Will Dwell With Us!
Revelation 21:1-8

Main Point:God will bring about His plan of dwelling with His redeemed people and will make all things new!

Genesis 3:8-9
Ezekiel 37:27-28

1. God created us to walk with Him, redeems us now to walk with Him by the Spirit, and will create a new heaven and a new earth (and a new Jerusalem – the ‘Holy City’) to dwell with us. verses 1-3

2. In this dwelling place of God and His redeemed people, He will make all things new: (verse 5)a.
He will wipe away every tear from our eyes.
(verse 4)
b. No more death or mourning
c. No more crying or pain.

3. All who ‘overcome’ (I John 5:1-5) inherit eternal life with God, but those who reject Christ and practice sin are
rejected.
(verses 6-8)

Revelation 20:1-5

John 17:20-26

Main Point:
Jesus prays that we will be one in Him and understand the Father’s love – the same love He has for the Son!

1. Jesus Prays that we may fully know the Father’s love – the same love He has for the Son.
verses 24-26

*Do you know the Love the Father has for you ? !

I John 3:1 ‘How great is the love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called the children of God! And that is what we are…’

2.Jesus prays that we will be one in Him – and thru us the world will know that the Father loves them!
verses 20-23

I John 4:19 ‘We love because He first loved us.’

Romans 5:5 ‘And hope does not disappoint us, because God has poured out His love into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, whom He has given to us.’

A message from the series “Not Part of a Series.” Why Get Baptized?
Mark 16:15-16

Main Point:
Jesus commands us to tell everyone that we are His followers by being baptized which symbolizes our repentance from unbelief and rising to live in new, resurrection life!

*Baptism does not save you
Titus 3:4-6

It is not a means of Grace.
(Infant baptism)

1. The Call: Believe in Jesus and His ‘good news.’(verses 15-16a)

‘Believe’ = to understand, accept & trust completely

John 3:16-18

2. The Command: Be baptized!(verse 16b)

Acts 2:38 “Repent and be baptized, everyone of you, in the Name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins…”

Matthew 28:19 “Make disciples by going…, baptizing…, and teaching…”

Matthew 3:13-17 Jesus was baptized and gave us a pattern to follow.

*It is an essential part of our discipleship!

Galatians 4:4-7

Main Point:
Father God sent His Son, Jesus, so that you and I can become His Daughters and Sons, and by His Son’s Spirit in us we receive all of His rights and benefits!

1. Because we’re redeemed, we are His dearly loved children and His Spirit in us cries out ‘Abba, Father’. (verses 5-6)

Abba = ‘Daddy’ – a term of endearment.

Ephesians 5:1-2

2. We are His heirs and live out all the rights and privileges so that we can love Father God, and one another! (verse 7)

Romans 8:16-17

Acts 2:29-41

Main Point: Jesus obtained the gift of the Spirit for us by His death and resurrection. Receive Christ and His Spirit will live in you and give you power for living!

Ephesians 2:8-9

We must repent and believe in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. (verses 37-38

Repent = A change of mind;
to turn 180 degrees

John 8:23-24

2. We must publicly confess Jesus Christ (baptism is the formal public confession). (verse 38

Romans 10:9-10

3. We receive power to love God, love others and live a life that glorifies Him!
