A message from the series “Not Part of a Series.” Growing in the Grace of Giving
II Corinthians 9:6-15
Main Point:
The Lord desires us to grow in the grace of giving; that we would give generously and faithfully for the work of His ministry and for the needs of His people.
II Corinthians 8:7
WHAT’S GIVING ALL ABOUT?
1. It is an act of worship to the Lord
(verse 7)
-We honor Him and declare He’s worthy of our ultimate devotion. Proverbs 3:9
-We declare our dependence on Him and recognize Him as our source. Deuteronomy 8:17-18
2. It is an issue of grace (verses 7-8)
*We give willingly, not out of guilt or compulsion.
The grace of giving is the power of the Lord to change our hearts so that we give, not because we have to, but because we want to!
3. It supplies the needs of the Body. (verse 12)
II Corinthians 8:13-15
-We are to work not just for our own needs, but to have something to share with those in need. Eph. 4:28; Rom.12:13
-We support those called to the work of the ministry.
I Corinthians 9:7-14

A message from the series “Luke.” Forgiveness that Brings Love
Luke 7:36-50
Main Point:
When we truly understand Messiah Jesus’ forgiveness for us it will cause us to love Him and other people greatly!
Forgiveness = send away, release
1. What this woman knew was that her sins were forgiven,Jesus accepted her, and she loved Him for it! vvs.48,37-38
Jesus is doing what He was called to do.
Luke 4:18-19
*This woman was so grateful for Jesus’ forgiveness that she poured herself out in the role of a servant. verses 44-46
Verses 47-48 Jesus declares her sins are forgiven – and he can do so because He has the authority to do so!
Jesus was not concerned with what anyone might think of Him or this woman – He received her and her love!
2. The enemy is always seeking to ensnare us when we give in to judging and criticizing. verses 36 & 39
The Pharisee believed it was his mission to test Jesus: evaluate and judge him.
*When you focus on other’s failures you can’t even see your own sins! (Luke 6:41-42)
3. Jesus clarifies the whole matter when He says ‘you’re faith has saved you, go in peace’: We are forgiven through faith in His Grace!
I Peter 4:8 Love one another Deeply!

A message from the series “Not Part of a Series.” I Want to Know Christ!
Philippians 3:7-11
New Living Translation
7. I once thought these things were valuable, but now I consider them worthless because of what Christ has done. 8 Yes, everything else is worthless when compared with the infinite value of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord.
For His sake I have discarded everything else, counting it all as garbage, so that I could gain Christ 9. and become one with Him. I no longer count on my own righteousness through obeying the Law; rather, I become righteous through faith in Christ. For God’s way
Main Point:
The goal of our lives is to know the Lord Jesus Christ fully and to make Him known to others!
‘Know’ (ginosko) = recognize, perceive, have intimate, experiential, first-hand knowledge of.
Do you know the Lord Jesus Christ? He knows you and wants you to know Him!
Psalm 139:1-6, 13-16
1. We consider all things in our selves a loss compared to knowing Christ Jesus as our Lord.(verses 7-8)
‘Rubbish/Garbage’ = Manure, dung!
V.9 We have a righteousness that comes by faith in Christ not from the law (our performance).
2. This gift of righteousness and the power of His resurrection causes me to desire to know Him more!
(verses 9-10)
Romans 12:1-2
Ephesians 1:19, Ephesians 3:16-19
*I must daily cultivate the presence of Jesus through the Spirit and in His Word – He calls me to set myself apart to Him more and more!
3. The fellowship of sharing in His sufferings involves daily dying to myself and giving myself away to others – sharing with them our Risen Lord!
(verse 10-11)
Mark 8:34-38
*This Gospel is the hope of the world!
