A message from the series “Not Part of a Series.” God Pours Out His Spirit
Acts 2:14-21
Main Point:
God will fill all of His people with His Spirit, so that He can accomplish His work of making His Name known among the nations!
1. God’s Preparation (Genesis1:1-2) Spirit Hovering – initiating His work on the earth by His Spirit.
2. Moses Plea (Numbers 11:29) That the Spirit would be upon all God’s people.
3. Ezekiel’s Prophecy – Ezekiel 36:22-27 He will cleanse our hard hearts from all our impurities and idols. He gives us a new heart of flesh (moldable) and new spirit, and removes our heart of stone.
4. Jeremiah’s prophecy – Jeremiah 31:31-33 God will make a New Covenant with his people – “I will put my law in their minds and write it on their hearts. How? By His Spirit in us.
5. Jesus’ Promise – John 14:15-20 ‘But you know Him, for He lives with you and will be in you.’ Jesus comes to live in us by the Spirit!
6. Pentecost’s Provision – Acts 1:4-8; 2:1-4; 14-21; 37-39
Ephesians 1:13- God seals us as His own with the Holy Spirit!

Jesus presents us holy and blameless, as we continue in our faith, not moved from the hope of the Gospel.
Presents = bring before, recommend
1. We were once alienated from God because of our sinful thinking (noia=mind) and behavior, and were His enemies. (verse 21)
Alienated = Not together, estranged, shut out
Enemies = adversaries = (God was against us)
Exodus 32:30-35
2. He reconciled us, not only to be forgiven, but to become
righteous – holy, like Him!
reconciled = to fully bring back to former state of harmony

3. We must continue in our faith, unmoved from the gospel of

Father God protects and keeps us, but through the trials He allows, He proves our faith in Jesus Christ genuine that it may result in praise!
*II Timothy 1:12 “For I know whom I have believed, and am convinced that He is able to guard what I have entrusted to Him for that day.â€
1.Our inheritance of salvation in Christ is kept for us
in heaven where it can never perish.

2. We must exercise our faith – trusting His word and living a sanctified, and obedient new life.

3. We are to rejoice in the trials, knowing that our faith is

Luke 2:1-14
Main Point: God offers His Christmas gift to each of us – it is the gift of His peace and Favor through His Son Jesus Christ, the Savior and Lord!
1. God’s gift of Christmas is inner peace, where we are in right relationship to God through Jesus Christ.(verses 10-11)
*It is a deep inner peace, peace of mind, soul and heart made possible by forgiveness of our sins by this Savior, Messiah – born to die & rise again!
2. We receive this gift by believing in Jesus Christ(putting our faith in Him) – we trust in what He has done for us, and invite Him into our lives.
*God’s favor rests on those who respond to His call to repentance, turn from our sin & self-will, and receive His Son, Jesus Christ, in our lives as Lord = Master!
