Christ calls us to set our hearts and minds on the things of His kingdom, and to put to death the evil things that come from our sinful nature.

Verse 3 ‘Our life is now hidden with Christ…’
I Corinthians 2:12-16

A message from the series “Colossians.” Rules & Regulations?
Colossians 2:16-23
Main Point :
Our life in Christ is not based on any human system of rules and regulations which cannot restrain sinful desires, rather, we are set free through our union with the Living Christ!
1. Even the Old Testament regulations were only a shadow of the reality which is in Christ. (verse 17)
2. The false teachers created a false human system of regulations that had no value in restraining sinful desires. (verses 21-22)
3. The reality is found in our union with the Living Christ through whom we died to the basic principles of the world. (verses 20)

A message from the series “Colossians.” God Nailed IT!
Colossians 2:13-15
Main Point:
God nailed the written code with its regulations to the Cross of Christ, forgiving us and making us alive in Christ, and disarmed the evil powers that seek to deceive and enslave us.
The false teachers had their ‘rules and regulations’ to follow.
1.We were dead in our sins, and our unsubmitted sinful nature through the law.
(verse 13)
Romans 7:7-12
2. God canceled the record of our debt, forgave all of our sins and made us alive in Christ.
(verses 13-14)
’Canceled’ = Erased/Paid in full
We now ‘live’ through Christ!
3. God disarmed the evil Spiritual powers through the cross of Christ – He made a public spectacle of them!
(verse 15)
Deception is their only weapon.
I Timothy 4:1-5
