Serving Christ In My Family, Part II
Main Point: We are to honor and serve Christ in our family and we will see the blessings of God manifested in all these relationships. Assumption is that you are saved and submitted to the Lord 1. Wives are to submit to their husbands as is fitting in the Lord. verse 18 ‘Submit’ = To put under the appointed order. 2. Husbands are to Love their wives and are not to be harsh with them. verse 19 ‘Love’ (agape) = unconditional, self sacrificing commitment for my Wife’s good. 3. Children are to obey their parents in everything, for this pleases the Lord. verse 20 ‘Obey’ = Listen attentively and heed – do what they say! 4.Fathers/Mothers do not embitter your children or they will become discouraged. verse 21 ‘Embitter’ = Provoke to anger & bitterness.
