The Promise of the Father Luke 24:44-53 Main Point: Jesus sent the promise of the Father to His disciples then, that they would receive power to live and witness, and that same promise of Christ’s Spirit is for His disciples today 1. To receive forgiveness of our sins and the promise of the Spirit we must: A. Repent of our unbelief and sins – verse 47 B. Be Baptized in the Name of Jesus Christ – Acts 2:38 The disciple’s response - verses 52-53 3. The indwelling Spirit of Christ gives us power to live and be His witnesses. (verse 49) Acts 2:8-9
