To Love is to Serve
To Love is to Serve John 13:34-35 Main Point: Jesus calls us to love each other as He has loved us – by Serving each other. Last week – Love = ‘Laying down our lives for each other.’ 1. Jesus gives us another measure of loving each other – we should do as He has done for us = Served us! vv. 1-17 This has to do with our heart – do we think we should be served or should we serve others? 2. Jesus came, not to be served but ‘to serve.’ Luke 22:27 3. We are called to love by ‘Washing each other’s feet’ – serve by doing the ‘hard, unpleasant’ tasks. vv. 14-15 Galatians 5:13
