Pressing On! Philippians 3:7-14 Main Point: We must press on to know Jesus Christ fully and to fulfill the purpose God has for our lives. ‘Know’ = to experience the transforming reality of Jesus Christ. Do you know the Lord Jesus Christ? Do you know the purpose He has for your life? 1. We consider all things a loss compared to knowing Christ Jesus as Lord. (verses 7-8) ‘Rubbish’ = Manure/dung! *‘Put no confidence in our flesh’ (verse 4) = our abilities,accomplishments & achievements 2. We forget what is behind.(including our failures!) (verse 13) 3. We strain ahead and press on toward the goal. (verses 12-14) *We have a right account of ourselves. (verse 12) Galatians 6:3-5 Don’t give up, Don’t give in – Press on!
