What is The Day of the Lord? I Thessalonians 5:1-11 Main Point: The Day of the Lord is the time when His saved ones (us) see salvation and the inauguration of the Christ’s kingdom, but for unbelievers it will be . Acts 17:29-31 God will have his Day – a day of reckoning! 1. For Believers in Jesus Christ, it is a Day of . (verses 9-10) The Prophets began to speak of another Day – most with a dual fulfillment - Isaiah 2:12; 13:6-9; Amos 5:18-19; Zechariah 14:1-6; Joel 2:28-32 > Acts 2:17-21; > 17:31 (v.2) This Day of the Lord will come… ‘like a thief in the night’ = do not know when He is coming. 2. For unbelievers it will be an day of wrath and destruction. (verse 3) Destruction = … being shut out from the Lord’s presence. II Thessalonians 1:6-10 3. We belong to the light and are to be ; putting on faith, love and the hope of our salvation as our armor! (verses 5-8) Mark 13:32-37 Watch! Be on Guard – be alert! *Encourage one another and build one another up!
