CloseThose Who’ve Died in Jesus 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18 Main Point: Believers in Jesus who are still alive have the hope of His coming, while those who have died in Him look forward to resurrection. Jesus spoke of His coming again: Matthew 16:28 Luke 9:26 John 14:3 1. At His coming, Jesus will bring with Him those believers who have fallen ‘asleep’ in Him and resurrect their bodies first. (verses 13-17) ‘Sleep’ = Euphemism for death. 2. Believers in Christ who are still alive at His coming will then be caught up to meet Jesus together with them in the air, to be with the Lord forever! (verses 17-18) ‘Caught up’ = seize, snatch away or pluck. (Latin - Raptura) 3. Believers in Christ who have died will receive resurrected bodies while, believers who are alive will be transformed. I Corinthians 15:50-53 ‘Changed’ = transformed, made different
