The Promised Spirit

The Promised Spirit Acts 2:29-39 Main Point: By His Death and Resurrection, Jesus obtained the gift of the Holy Spirit for everyone of us who are His disciples. Through repentance and baptism, we receive Christ’s Spirit who lives in us, fills us and empowers us! Luke 24:49 > Acts 2:14-18 The gift is the Person of the Spirit who fills us and seals us. Ephesians 1:13-14 1. To receive forgiveness of our sins and this gift of the Holy Spirit we must: A. Repent of our unbelief and sins – verse 38a B. Be Baptized in the Name of Jesus Christ – verse 38b Their response – verse 41a. What about you?? 2. We are to keep on being filled with (controlled by) the Holy Spirit. Ephesians 5:15-18 3. The Spirit will Flush everything out of us that is not of Jesus! (Sanctification – a process) I Thessalonians 5:23-24
