A message from the series “Not Part of a Series.” Main Point: We have a calling from Jesus Christ on our lives to walk out of faith in obedient living. (not just God talk!)

1. If we profess to know Jesus Christ, then we are called to obey His commands (v. 4-6)

John 14:15-16

I John 5:3 – His commands are not burdensome.

I John 3:23-24 – His command is to believe in Christ and to love one another – to walk (live) like He did.

2. When we fail or fall, Jesus Christ, the Righteous One, speaks to the Father in our defense.

A message from the series “Not Part of a Series.” Main Point: Father God’s love for us is extravagant. He bestowed His love on us by giving us His One and Only Son, and adopted us His children.

Bestowed = to give a gift, to give for one’s advantage

How is it extravagant?

1. Romans 5:6-8 While we were still sinners and powerless, Christ came and died for us!

A message from the series “Revelation.” Main Point: The Risen Christ calls us to be faithful and pure, not compromising with the world or committing sexual immorality.

Numbers 25:1-3, 31:16 – Balaam’s influence = symbol of compromise and immorality

1. Keeping our faith in Christ requires that we abstain from compromise with idolatry. (v. 14)

2. Keeping our faith in Christ requires that we abstain from sexual immorality (v. 15)

3. The remedy for these repentance (v. 16)

Baptism symbolizes death to our old sinful life and rising into a new life we receive in Christ which we live through His Spirit in us.

#1 – The Command of Baptism (Acts 2:38)

It is part of our discipleship.

#2 – The Significance of Baptism (Romans 6:1-4)

P – Picture of our union with Christ in His death, burial, and resurrection, and death to our old life, rising to new life in Christ.

I – Identification we are identified publicly as a disciple/follower of Christ and as a member of His Body.

C – Commitment. We Drive a stake in the ground. We are committing, consecrating ourselves to follow Christ for the rest of our lives

A message from the series “Revelation.” Main Point: The Risen Christ calls us to be faithful in suffering for His Name even to the point of death.

1. Jesus knows our afflictions and poverty – yet says we are rich!

2. Jesus counsels us that we are not to fear the suffering by those who slander and persecute us, knowing they are servants of Satan.

3. Jesus commands us that we are to be faithful in suffering even to death because he has overcome it and so will we.
