A message from the series “Revelation.” v.19 ‘Those who I love I rebuke and discipline.’

Main Point:
The Risen Lord Jesus Christ urges us to examine ourselves to see if we are lukewarm in our commitment to Him. We must move from delusion to dependence on Him!

1. The Indictment – vv.15-16 ‘You are lukewarm (neither hot nor cold) – I am about to spit you out of my mouth.’

2. The Delusion – v.17 “I am rich – have need of nothing’. Jesus says, ‘you are wretched, poor, blind, and naked.’

3. The Cure – v.19 Repent – turn from these and receive true riches from Him.

How do we receive true riches from Christ?

In so doing we open the door of our hearts that He might come in and be hot – on fire in us!

A message from the series “Not Part of a Series.” Main Point:
If we are born of God and truly know him, then His agape love will flow from us to others, and is made complete in us.

Agape = Unconditional, Self-Sacrificing Love.

1. God has defined agape love by initiating a relationship with us and sending His Son as the atoning sacrifice for our sins

Hebrews 9:13-14

2. We are reborn into a new life that is expressed through loving others with His agape love flowing for from us, making us complete.

1 John 4:19-21

We were created to know and share His love!

1 Corinthians 13:1-7

A message from the series “Revelation.” Main Point:
The Risen Christ commands us to endure patiently in the midst of a hostile environment, with and attacking enemy (Satan).

1. The Risen Lord Jesus Christ has set an open door before us. Regardless of what or who we face, though we have little strenght, no one can shut the entrance to His Kingdom.

2. We are to endure patiently – we are to hold on to His Word and not deny His name, even while being tested by the hour of trial that is coming upon the whole world.

A message from the series “Revelation.” Main Point:

The Risen Lord Jesus Christ calls us to wake up from our spiritual slumber and renew our commitment and obedience to him.

1. Regardless of how we look to others, Jesus knows our true spiritual state – our hearts, and exhorts us to be spiritually alive.

2. The steps to waking up are: Remember – Repent – Renew

*The secret to living the Christ life is to live in continual repentance.

A message from the series “Not Part of a Series.” Main Point:

Grace is the heart of God towards us; it is the basis of our salvation, our walk, our life in Christ!

1. What is Grace? It is the unmerited favor of God towards us.

G – God’s
R – Riches
A – At
C – Christ’s
E – Expense

2. Jesus Christ is the manifestation of Grace – the Heart of God.

A message from the series “Revelation.” Main Point:

The Risen Christ warns us not to tolerate immoral teachers nor allow their evil influence to lead us into sin.

1. The Risen, All-seeing Christ knows our faithful walk and perseverance and is pleased with us. (v.19)

2. As a church, and individual followers of Christ, we must no tolerate those who claim to be disciples, but are immoral in their practice and influence. (vs. 20-24)

A message from the series “Not Part of a Series.” Main Point: We have a calling from Jesus Christ on our lives to walk out of faith in obedient living. (not just God talk!)

1. If we profess to know Jesus Christ, then we are called to obey His commands (v. 4-6)

John 14:15-16

I John 5:3 – His commands are not burdensome.

I John 3:23-24 – His command is to believe in Christ and to love one another – to walk (live) like He did.

2. When we fail or fall, Jesus Christ, the Righteous One, speaks to the Father in our defense.

A message from the series “Not Part of a Series.” Main Point: Father God’s love for us is extravagant. He bestowed His love on us by giving us His One and Only Son, and adopted us His children.

Bestowed = to give a gift, to give for one’s advantage

How is it extravagant?

1. Romans 5:6-8 While we were still sinners and powerless, Christ came and died for us!

A message from the series “Revelation.” Main Point: The Risen Christ calls us to be faithful and pure, not compromising with the world or committing sexual immorality.

Numbers 25:1-3, 31:16 – Balaam’s influence = symbol of compromise and immorality

1. Keeping our faith in Christ requires that we abstain from compromise with idolatry. (v. 14)

2. Keeping our faith in Christ requires that we abstain from sexual immorality (v. 15)

3. The remedy for these repentance (v. 16)
