A message from the series “Not Part of a Series.” *Due to technical difficulties, today’s sermon was not video recorded.

Being An Effective Father
Ephesians 6:4
Main Point:
The scriptures will teach us how to be effective Fathers if we will them!

An effective Father is one who:
1. Seeks to the Lord.

>If you are going to effectively love and lead your family, you must love and obey the Lord! If not you are going in your own strength…

Matthew 22:37 Jesus says this is the greatest command.

*If you‘re going to Love and lead your family, they need to see you as authentic lover and follower of Jesus!

2. Seeks to his children in the Lord.

>He admits when he is wrong, has sinned and repents to the Lord and to his family. We all fail – it’s what we do with our failures.

3. Seeks to avoid his children.

Exasperate = .

How? By being a hypocrite. By being harsh. By living out of one’s flesh.
Ephesians 4:29-32

Message: “An Anchor of Hope” from Tom Leonard

A message from the series “The Book of Hebrews.” An Anchor of Hope
Hebrews 6:13-20

Main Point:
Jesus our Messiah gives us a Hope that is rock solid – an anchor that holds, so that we can faithfully endure, despite the storms of life.

1. God made a promise, and swore an oath by His own Name – He cannot lie.

Numbers 23:19

*The promise was that God would bless Abraham (verses 13-14 > Gen.12:2-3) and we would be blessed through Him.

2. Abraham received the fulfillment of the promise after he waited patiently. We must patiently endure that we may receive the fullness of the promise made to us. verses 15, 18-19

3. The anchor of our hope is Jesus our High Priest, who has gone thru the curtain, into the heavenly sanctuary – God’s Presence. verses 19-20

Romans 5:1-5

We can faithfully endure, despite the storms of life because He is the anchor that holds!

Message: “Our Mission ” from Tom Leonard

A message from the series “Not Part of a Series.” Our Mission
Main Point:
The Risen Jesus’ last command is our commission: He calls us to BE and make disciples until the end of the age.

‘Make Disciples’ (mathetuo) = to make a disciple (a disciple was one who committed his life to a teacher to follow and learn).

Are you a disciple? Are you being a disciple?

Luke 9:23-26

We are to make disciples:
1. By ‘going and in our going .’ verse 19a

Jesus modeled this – spent time with people… Mark 2:15-17
The Apostles modeled this… Acts 5:41-42

2. By ‘baptizing them’ (‘in the Name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit’). verse 19b

Acts 2:38-39 (we are having a public baptism in a few weeks!)

3. By ‘teaching them’ (to obey everything I have commanded You’). verse 20

We model it, then invest in others to learn, grow and obey!

We’re not alone – He is with us always to the end of the age!
