Message: “Confident of Jesus’ Help” from Tom Leonard

A message from the series “The Book of Hebrews.” Confident of Jesus’ Help
Hebrews 4:14-16
Main Point: Jesus, the Son of God, is our He will strengthen us so we can hold firmly to our faith especially when we are struggling and in need.

Their need was to hold firmly to the faith while undergoing persecution and hardship.

>Our need may be the same – we may have struggles, but also we battle apathy and lukewarmness; the deceit of the enemy!

1. Jesus is able to with our weakness because He was tempted in every way, just as we are, but was without sin. verse 15

Message: “Life or Death? Part II” from Tom Leonard

A message from the series “Not Part of a Series.” Life or Death?!
Deuteronomy 30:15-20

Main Point:
The Lord calls us to love and obey Him wholeheartedly so that we will have a blessed life and enjoy His blessings!

Out of gratefulness for saving us, for He is our life! v.20b

Two kinds of blessing in Christ:

1. Positional (Justification) unconditional: We are blessed spiritually in Christ! These come from the obedience of Jesus Christ!
Ephesians 1:3, Hebrews 5:8-9

We are no longer under a curse: Galatians 3:13

Jeremiah 31:33

2. Conditional (Sanctification) Blessings:
These come from our obedience to God’s will in Christ.

II Thessalonians 4:3-4

Message: “The Grace of Christmas” from Tom Leonard

A message from the series “Not Part of a Series.” The Grace of Christmas
John 1:14-18
Main Point:
God gave the law through Moses, but gave us His _________ ____________________ through the Messiah, Jesus.

1. The Law which came thru Moses, – but it could not justify us before God. verse 17

Romans 3:20 “Therefore no one will be declared righteous in His sight by observing the Law; rather, through the law we become conscious of sin.”

*This is the truth that we must come to, accept – and it is the truth with which God dealt with – our sin problem!

2. God sent His Son, Jesus, to become .verse 14

‘Word’ (logos) = that which is spoken or conceived of in the mind. Jesus Christ is the essential, creative ‘Word’ of God.
(God communicating, expressing Himself)

3. We see God’s in Jesus, and through Him, receive the gift of grace and truth. verse 14, 18

Message: “Rest & Word !” from Tom Leonard

A message from the series “The Book of Hebrews.” Rest & Word !
Hebrews 4:1-13

Main Point:
When we enter God’s Sabbath rest through faith in Jesus, we cease from our own striving. God’s Word promises us this rest and His Word is alive with because He spoke it to us!

1. God has a for us that we can enter through faith in Jesus!
verses 1, 6, 9-11

*Let us enter that rest through Jesus the Supreme Son!

2. God’s Word promises it – it is alive with power because it has gone forth from His and will accomplish its purpose. (verse 12)
Isaiah 55:10-11

3. It is alive with power because it has been ____________ forth from His innermost being. (verses 12-13)

*It penetrates to our innermost being, judging our thoughts and motives.
