Message: “How do we show our love for one another…” from Ashley Davis

A message from the series “Not Part of a Series.” HOW do we show our love for one another…

1. We are to accept one another
Romans 15:7
[7] Accept one another, then, just as Christ accepted you, in order to bring praise to God.

2. We are to build up one another
Romans 14:19 NLT
[19] So then, let us aim for harmony in the church and try to build each other up.

3. We are to serve one another
Galatians 5:13
[13] You, my brothers, were called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge the sinful nature ; rather, serve one another in love.

4. We are to carry one another’s burdens
Galatians 6:1-2
[1] Brothers, if someone is caught in a sin, you who are spiritual should restore him gently. But watch yourself, or you also may be tempted. [2] Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.

5. We are to be kind, compassionate and forgiving to one another
Ephesians 4:32
[32] Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.

6. We are to submit to one another
Ephesians 5:21
[21] Submit to one another out of reverence for Christ.

7. We are to encourage one another
Hebrews 3:12-13
[12] See to it, brothers, that none of you has a sinful, unbelieving heart that turns away from the living God. [13] But encourage one another daily, as long as it is called Today, so that none of you may be hardened by sin’s deceitfulness.

8. We are to spur one another
Hebrews 10:24-25
[24] And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds. [25] Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching.

9. We are to be hospitable to one another
1 Peter 4:8-9
[8] Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins. [9] Offer hospitality to one another without grumbling

(verses 26-28)
2. The Lord’s prophecy was that the Messiah would bring the light for revelation (unveiling) for salvation and the glory of God to Israel.

Message: “Got Access ?” from Tom Leonard

A message from the series “Romans.” Got Access ?
Romans 5:1 – 11
Main Point:
We have access into God’s grace thru faith in Jesus Christ, and His commitment to produce perseverance and character in us

Access = moving toward, able to approach(God)

Grace = unmerited favor, goodness, and mercy of God towards us

1. Access into God’s grace comes only through Faith
in Jesus Christ (4:23) not by good works or obeying the Law.
(verses 1-2)

Faith = believing responses to God’s drawing/calling

Ephesians 2:8-9

Now good is not always what we think it should be…

2. Sufferings produce perseverance, character and more hope
confirmed by the Holy Spirit in us!
(verses 3-5)

Sufferings =

Hebrews 4:16

3. God’s commitment to us : While we were yet powerless, sinners, enemies of God, Christ died for us that we might be reconciled (restoration!).
(verses 6-11)

I John 3:1b ‘How great is the love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are!’

Message: “Our Father Abraham !” from Tom Leonard

A message from the series “Romans.” Our Father Abraham !

Main Point:
We must have a faith like Abraham – believe God raised Jesus from the dead, so that we can be his offspring and inherit the promise!

Genesis 18:17-19 The promise to Abraham confirmed

Believe (pisteuo) = to be persuaded, to be convinced of its truth > to take God at His Word!

1. Abraham believed against hope in God’s promise, therefore,
he inherited the promise, and righteousness was credited
to him. (verses 18-21)

Credit = to reckon, count it towards one’s account

2. We must have a believing response to God’s provision of salvation through His Son, Jesus Christ – ‘He was delivered over to death for our sins and was raised to Life for our justification.’ (verses 23-25)

3. We also inherit the promise as Abraham’s offspring – we
will be heirs of the world through our victorious Messiah!
(verses 4-5) Romans 5:17 Revelations 5:9-10

Message: “Learning to Hear God” from Tom Leonard

A message from the series “Not Part of a Series.” Learning to Hear God

I Kings 19:9-15

Main Point
If we want to hear God we must learn to distinguish His voice from what we THINK He should say and do!

*Elijah was implying to God what He should do to His people!(verses 10,14)

1. Our ways and thoughts are not often God’s ways and
thoughts!
Isaiah 55:8-9

2. He often asks us a question to get us to consider what we
are doing and thinking.
(verses 9,13)

Genesis 3:9 Genesis 4:6,9

3. He will communicate to us if we will truly listen with Spiritual
discernment !

I Corinthians 2:13-14

Message: “Believe Like Abraham!” from Tom Leonard

A message from the series “Romans.” Believe Like Abraham!
Romans 4:1-12

Main Point:
We are called to have a faith like Abraham – to believe God so that righteousness is credited to us.

Genesis 12:1-3 Abraham’s call

Believe (pisteuo) = to be persuaded, to be convinved of its truth > to take God at His Word! (God is behind it!)

1. Abraham had a believing response to God’s promise, and it was credited to him as righteousness. (verses 1-3)

Credit = to reckon, count it towards one’s account

Genesis 15:1-6

2. We cannot gain righteousness by works, for a wage given to one who works is not a gift, but an obligation – and we cannot gain

righteousness by works of the Law (3:20). (verses 4-5)

3. We must have a believing response to God’s provision of salvation through His Son, Jesus Christ’s sacrificial atonement so that it is

credited to us as righteousness! (verses 11b-12)
