CloseMain Point: Baptism symbolizes death to our old sinful life and rising into a new life we receive in Christ which we live through His Spirit in us. #1 - The Command of Baptism (Acts 2:38) It is part of our discipleship. #2 - The Significance of Baptism (Romans 6:1-4) P - Picture of our union with Christ in His death, burial, and resurrection, and death to our old life, rising to new life in Christ. I - Identification we are identified publicly as a disciple/follower of Christ and as a member of His Body. C - Commitment. We Drive a stake in the ground. We are committing, consecrating ourselves to follow Christ for the rest of our lives It is the outward sign, of the inner work Christ has done. A visual illustration of the transformation Jesus has done in my life!
