Yield Myself to God to be Used

R.E.C.O.V.E.R.Y. Series Yield Myself to God to be Used! Recovery Series #5 Main Point: (Romans 7:22-25) - I must realize that I’m not God and admit I am powerless to change my sinful nature (my tendency to do the wrong thing), but through the power of Jesus Christ, I can be transformed and overcome! 1. R.ealize I’m not God and admit I’m powerless to control my tendency to do the wrong thing (change my sinful nature). (Romans 7:22-24) *I may have a controlling hurt, habit or hang-up – Has my life become unmanageable? 2. E.arnestly believe that God exists; that I matter to Him and that He has the power to help me recover/overcome - through Jesus Christ! (Romans 7:25) 3. C.onsciously choose to commit all of my life and will to Christ’s care and control. (Romans 8:12-15) 4. O.penly examine and confess my sins & faults to myself, God, and someone I trust. (James 5: 16) 5. V.oluntarily submit to any & all changes God wants to make in my life, and humbly ask Him to remove my character defects. 6. E.valuate all my relationships. Offer forgiveness to those who have hurt me, and make amends for harm I’ve done to others when possible, except when to do so would harm them or others. (I Thess. 5:11; Matthew 6:14-15, 5:23) 7. R.eserve time with God for self-examination, Bible reading and prayer, in order to know God and His will for my life, and to gain the power to follow His will. (Psalm 119:105) II Corinthians 5:17-18a “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come! All this is from God, who reconciled us to Himself through Christ…” *Are you a new creation? Are you reconciled to God through Christ? 8. Y.ield myself to God to be used to bring the Good News to others by both my example and words. II Corinthians 5:19b “and He has committed to us the message of reconciliation. We are Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making His appeal through us…” *We are Christ’s Ambassadors! *Are you sharing the message with all those you come in contact with? Ephesians 2:10 “We are God’s workmanship created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.” Ephesians 5:15-16 “Be very careful, then, how you live – not as unwise but as wise, making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil. ”
